This how-to-get guide is for those who are in Germany, consisting of:

• German passport holders and
• those holding a foreign passport residing in Germany.

To get a visa for Vietnam, Germany citizens and residents may have two options:

1. Apply for a Vietnam visa at Vietnam embassy in Germany

To get a Vietnam visa this way, you may choose to apply in person or by post and follow the following steps:

1. Prepare the required documents Depending on the form of visa you wish to obtain (sticker visa or loose-leaf visa), the documents to be prepared for visa application may vary.
   • For sticker visa, the Vietnam visa applicants in Germany need to prepare:
     • Original passport, valid for at least 06 months beyond the date of entry into Vietnam
     • 01 completed application form (download here),
     • 01 recent photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm or 04 cm x 06 cm),
     • Approval letter from the Vietnam Immigration Department for business visa application,
     • Other as required by the embassy,
     • Visa fee in cash or Verrechnungsscheck with the signature of the account holder. The recipient should be: the embassy or the consulate of Vietnam in Germany),
     • DHL if sending by post.
   • For loose-leaf visa, the documents to be prepared include:
     • Copy of the ID page of the passport.
     • 01 completed application form.
     • 02 recent photos (3.5cm x 4.5cm or 04 cm x 06 cm).
     • Approval letter from the Vietnam Immigration Department for business visa application,
     • Other as required by the embassy,
     • Visa fee in cash or Verrechnungsscheck with the signature of the account holder. The recipient should be: the embassy or the consulate of Vietnam in Germany).
