Do Chinese citizens need a visa to Vietnam?

Chinese citizens are REQUIRED to get a valid visa to enter Vietnam as a tourist or businessman.

  • China passport should be valid for at least 6 months following arrival date in Vietnam;
  • China passport has at least 2 blank pages.

How to Apply for Vietnam Visa for Chinese citizens?

Chinese citizens and passport holders can choose one of the following two methods to apply for a Vietnam visa:

1. Apply at Local Vietnam Embassy

To get Vietnam visas this way, the Chinese applicants need to contact any office of Vietnam embassy/consulate. It can be:

  • Vietnamese embassy/consulates in China if they are residing in China. Their contact details can be found here.
  • Vietnam embassy/consulate in the country of their residence (if they are outside Chine).

Here comes the common procedure that the Chinese citizens should follow to get a visa issued by the embassy/consulate of Vietnam:

  1. Prepare required documents, including but not limited to:
    • Vietnam visa application form (hard copy, completed, signed and attached with photo)
    • Original passport;
    • Portrait photos;
    • Invitation letter if applying for a business visa.
  2. Follow the required procedure to submit the documents and pay the visa fees;
  3. Get the visa after a certain period of time.

2. Get Vietnam visa on arrival (Recommended)
